Confido 2.0: the tech for good talent partner

Our story so far 

At Confido, our focus has been to simplify the way startups scale by helping grow their teams at pace. Since setting out on this mission in 2018, we’ve connected over 20 Seed to Series B startups with more than 70 talented Product and Tech experts.    

While we’ve had the pleasure of partnering with a range of different businesses, we’ve always felt the strongest connection with startups building tech Tech for Good products. We love businesses that have a clearly defined purpose, but more importantly a product that’s bringing about positive social change, whether that be improving the mental health of millions around the world, allowing people to avoid falling into debt, or educating the next generation. The concept of harnessing the latest developments in tech to drive positive change is so exciting to us, both as individuals and as a startup ourselves.

Like everyone, we’ve recently had more time on our hands to reflect on where we are and what we want for our future. To think about what we want to be known for, and where our time is best spent. Without a doubt, the startups that have resonated with us most have been those with a strong social purpose, those who are trying to make the world a better place through their products.

That’s why we’ve been inspired to refine our proposition so we can live and breathe our values in everything we do. We’ve seen first-hand the impact that Tech for Good startups can have, and we want to be a part of it.

Market evolution 

We’ve also had time to consider how the market has evolved since we founded Confido. Over the last two and a half years, we’ve noticed an interesting trend. The best fit, for both startup and candidate, isn’t down to skill, experience or interests. Everything hinges on mission and value alignment. Like us, both parties want the 9-5 to mean something more.

Brand culture is shifting. While historically,  businesses have focused purely on their bottom line, many are now striving for a purpose beyond profit. While this has proven to resonate with consumers, it’s also clearly a key motivator for employees. People want to feel that they’re making a difference, that they’re working on something they truly believe in. The stats tell a similar story, as studies have shown that 98% of employees wouldn’t work somewhere that doesn’t fit their values, while those who have a strong connection to the purpose of their organisation are five times more likely to stay on long-term.

With many of us working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, work-life balance is swinging back in our favour. No commute means that people are saving money and time, which they can then spend on what’s important to them. This in turn is triggering people to reflect on their current position and whether it aligns with their values and motivations, just as we have.

Confido 2.0 

While we’ve always worked with tech startups, we’ve never been sector specific, until now. As well as unveiling our new website and updated look, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be shifting our focus to scaling Product and Tech teams exclusively for Tech for Good startups. By connecting people with the same values and a shared purpose, we want to help build a better future, together.

We’ll now be dedicating all our energy to growing this sector. We want to partner with the startups striving to make an impact with their product, whether that’s working to combat the climate crisis or providing support to those most in need.
