As someone who’s only recently delved into a career in recruitment, learning is key! I’ve listened to some podcasts and signed up to newsletters, all of which have been immensely helpful alongside the training at Confido (thanks Craig!)

So, for this post I wanted to talk about some amazing figures in recruitment who’ve helped me as well as many others understand things like what motivates a candidate, gauging client needs, or even diversifying search methods amongst an array of other things. Check out a few of the podcast episodes I’ve linked for each! 😊 

 

Hung Lee

Hung Lee curates content manually for Recruiting Brainfood, making it feel more personal. It’s a comprehensive overview, full of useful information. More than just blogs and articles, it features their podcast, assessment tools and more.

Mark Whitby 

The Resilient Recruiter episodes really get me thinking about the nooks and crannies of the recruitment industry, from discussing industry trends to business approaches, with some real-life examples. It’s a granular chat on what makes a recruitment profession profitable!

Lysha Holmes 

Lysha, founder of Qui Recruitment (R2R), has been in recruitment since 1998 and hosts The Recruiter’s Recruitment Podcast.  She interviews a range of inspiring leaders from the recruitment sector as well as broader businesses, again discussing their personal experiences and life lessons – super inspiring!

Katrina Collier and Glenn Martin 

Katrinaauthor of ‘The Robot-Proof Recruiter: A survival guide for recruitment and sourcing professionals’ and Glenn, Talent Acquisition Professional, were hosts of The #SocialRecruiting Show. They shared their tips on growing an online brand (whether that’s company brand, employer brand , or your own personal brand as a recruiter). Since ending The #SocialRecruiting show in November 2020, Katrina has launched The Hiring Partner Perspective and Glenn is the host of Never Mind The Job Spec.
