Veganism is on the rise, with the number of vegans in the UK increasing by 40% within the past 12 months alone. The meat substitutes market in the UK is already estimated to be worth €500m, making it the largest in Europe. Globally the vegan meat market is expected to be worth $8.3 billion by 2025.  

The Vegan Society has registered around fourteen THOUSAND products with The Vegan trademark in 2019, which was an increase of 49% from 2018.  

More recently, 37% of Brits claim they have actively reduced or removed animal products from their diets within the last five years.  

With an abundance of vegan options available at our disposal, eating more plant-based meals is easier than ever before. And there is a huge variety of vegan foodtech companies to choose from!

About: THIS is a plant-based meat alternative that is high in protein and tastes sensational. THIS only produce 1.2kg of CO2 emissions compared to the 50kg produced through beef production. Their food is high in protein, contains no nitrates, no antibiotics and most of their packaging uses 90% less plastic.

About:  Founder, Ellie, a life-long cheese addict began to develop recipes for plant-based cheese and thus Kinda Co. was born! Kinda Co. makes vegan cheese from nuts, it is both dairy-free and delicious. They currently offer 12 varieties of dairy-free cheese.

About: Mighty M.lk are big on flavour, amazing nutrition and low impact on the environment. You may not have thought that m.lk made from yellow split peas and oats could pack so much goodness – but they can! Their M.lk packs in way more protein and calcium than regular plant milk, plus split peas have a tiny carbon footprint so are super sustainable too.

They're the first in the UK to offer delivery on a commercial scale with non-dairy Milks in reusable bottles.

Doisy & Dam 

About: Doisy & Dam are a vegan chocolate B-Corp. They ethically source high-quality cocoa and use natural ingredients with no palm oil, additives or E-Numbers. All of their cocoa is sourced from Colombia and supplied by Luker Chocolate (the trailblazers in ethical chocolate). They buy through cocoa cooperatives instead of the stock market, which means more money goes back into the community.
